Sweet Sour Pork Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 4-6

Marinade :

Sauce :

Pork lion, cut into small, bite-size pieces

Green capsicum, cut into small pieces

Red chili, sliced

Carrot, cut into small pieces

Fresh or canned pineapple slices

Garlic, chopped

Oil for deep frying

Cornstarch

 

 

Soy sauce

Egg yolk

Cornstarch

 

 

Vinegar

Sugar

Tomato ketchup

Cornstarch

Water

Salt

MSG (optional)

Method :
  • Mix together the meat and marinade ingredients. Keep aside for at least 20 minutes.

  • Heat oil for deep-frying. Roll meat in cornstarch and deep-fry over medium heat for 3 minutes. Remove and drain.

  • Reheat oil till hot and re-fry meat for 30 seconds. Drain.

  • Drain off all but 3 tablespoons oil. Reheat oil and lightly brown garlic.

  • Add capsicum, chili and carrot. Stir fry for a few minutes.

  • Add sauce ingredients and bring to the boil.

  • Mix in pineapple slices and meat.

  • Dish up and serve hot.
