Banana Bud and Clam Salad Recipe

(Goi Bap Chuoi Ngheu)

Salad dressing

Shrimp crackers, deep fried

 

 

Banana bud, outer layers removed, yellow centre shredded

Lime juice

Salt

Clams

Mint leaves, finely chopped

Lean pork, cooked and thinly sliced

Sesame seeds, toasted

Fried shallots

Method :
  • Soak shredded banana bud in a bowl of water with lime juice and salt for 30 minutes the drain.

  • This will make it whiter in color.

  • Bring a pot of water to the boil and cook clams.

  • Shell and set aside.

  • Combine all salad ingredients and toss well with salad dressing.

  • Serve with shrimp crackers on the side.
