Easy Peanut Sauce Recipe

Groundnut oil

Garlic, crushed and finely chopped

Shallot, finely chopped

Small red chilies, finely chopped

Crunchy peanut butter

Palm sugar

Vietnamese fish sauce

Coconut milk, plus extra if necessary

Method :
  • Heat the oil in a heavy based saucepan.

  • Add the garlic, shallot, chilies and fry gently for 2 minutes or until the shallots are softening.

  • Add the peanut butter, sugar, fish sauce and coconut milk.

  • Mix together thoroughly, then cook over low heat for 10 - 15 minutes.

  • Add more coconut milk if the sauce is becoming too thick.
