Crispy Fish in Sweet and Sour Sauce Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 4

Sweet-Sour Sauce

3 tablespoons

2 tablespoons

1 1/2 tablespoons

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon

Fish fillets

Self raising flour



Egg (beaten)

Canned pineapple cubes

Green capsicum (diced)

Potatoes (boiled and scooped into balls)

Big onion (diced)

Oil for deep frying



Tomato sauce





Method :
  • Mix together the self-raising flour, pepper and salt.

  • Cut fillets into 2 inch cubes. Dip in beaten egg and leave for about 20 minutes.

  • Boil in a little water to scald green capsicum and onion.

  • Take out the fillets from the beaten egg and roll in the flour mixture.

  • Heat oil for deep frying. Fry fillets till golden. Drain.

  • Arrange fried fish fillets and vegetables on a serving dish.

  • Mix the ingredients for sweet and sour sauce in a saucepan and keep stirring over flame. When sauce thickens, remove from heat and pour over the fillets and vegetables.
