Deep-Fried Sesame Dates Recipe

Ingredients :

Skin :

600 g

2 tablespoons

4 tablespoons

4 tablespoons

6 tablespoons

Filling :

800 g

 

 

Sweet potatoes (cooked and mashed)

Glutinous rice flour

Custard powder

Castor sugar

Water (if necessary)

Sesame seeds

Oil, for deep-frying

 

 

Bean paste/lotus seed paste (make into 40 small balls)

Method :
  • Mix mashed sweet potatoes, glutinous rice flour, custard powder, castor sugar and water (if necessary) together.

  • Knead into a smooth dough. Divide into 40 pieces and make into balls.

  • Wrap up 1 part of filling with 1 part of skin and form into the shape of dates.

  • Dip in water and coat with sesame seeds.

  • Heat up oil for deep-frying.

  • Deep fried sesame dates on medium heat till golden brown.

  • Dish and drain.

  • Serve hot.
