Easy One-Dish Pork Recipe

(Bun Xao Thit)

Ingredients : Serves 4

Groundnut oil

Shallots, finely chopped

Garlic, finely chopped

Small red chili, finely sliced

Boneless pork, cut into small strips

Vietnamese fish sauce

Coconut milk

Rice vermicelli, cooked and drained



Coriander leaves

Method :
  • Heat the oil in a wok, add the shallots and garlic.

  • Stir fry until they are soft.

  • Add the chili, pork strips and fish sauce.

  • Season with salt and pepper.

  • Stir fry for 10-15 minutes until the pork is turning golden.

  • Bring the coconut milk gently to the boil in a small saucepan and while it is heating, divide the vermicelli between 4 large bowls.

  • Divide the pork mixture between the bowls and pour the coconut milk over the top.

  • Serve with the peanuts, coriander leaves and the dipping sauce.
