Grilled Lemon Grass Beef Recipe

(Bo Nuong Sa Ot)

Ingredients : Serves 4

Lemon grass, finely chopped

Large shallots, finely chopped

Small red chilies, finely chopped

Large garlic, finely chopped



Groundnut oil

Lean rump steak, cut into 1/2 inch cubes

Method :
  • Put the lemon grass, shallots, chilies, garlic, salt, pepper and oil in a mortar and pound together, or process in a small food processor.

  • Mix well with the beef, cover and marinate at room temperature for at least 3 hours.

  • Thread the beef cubes on to pre-soaked bamboo skewers.

  • Cook under a preheated hot grill for about 3 minutes on each side, turning occasionally.

  • Serve with the salad, nuoc cham dipping sauce and pieces of French bread.
