Roasted Pork Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 6-8

Seasoning :

1 1/2 tablespoons

1 1/2 tablespoons

60 ml

5 teaspoons

1 tablespoon

3 tablespoons



Lean pork-lion

Cooking oil for brushing

Cucumber, thinly sliced

Cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water to form paste)



Dark soy sauce

Red bean curd sauce

Light soy sauce



Honey or corn syrup

Drops red coloring


Method :
  • Mix well together all the seasoning ingredients.

  • Cut the pork into two long strips, following the grain. Put them in a bowl.

  • Pour seasonings onto the meat. Mix well and leave to marinate for an hour.

  • Preheat oven at 240oC/475oF/Mark 9.

  • Place pork strips on a rack with a drip tray underneath it. Roast for 30 minutes.

  • Baste meat strips with remaining marinade and oil. Turn each strip over and repeat.

  • Reduce heat and bake for another 10 minutes.

  • Remove from oven and slice thinly across the grain.

  • To make sauce : Save the marinade. Reheat and thicken with cornstarch mixture.

  • Serve with sliced cucumber and marinade sauce or chili sauce, if preferred.

Tip : To ensure the roast pork is succulent and juicy, put water into the drip try that is place below the pork. This will prevent the roast pork from being dry.
