Steamed Beef with Spicy Rice Powder Recipe

Rice powder

Green onions

Ginger

Star anise

Soy sauce

Wine

Sugar

Salt

Hot bean paste

Oil

Method :
  • Cut the beef into small slices about 1 1/2 inches square and 1/6 inch thick. Marinade in onion, ginger, star anise, soy sauce, wine, hot bean paste, sugar, salt and oil for about 30 minutes.

  • After soaked, dredge each slice of beef with the rice powder. Then steam it in a shallow bowl over high heat for 20 minutes (if you use the special small steamer the time will be 15 minutes).

  • Before serve, sprinkle some chopped green onion and brown peppercorn powder over the beef.
