Vietnamese Satay Recipe

(Nem Nuong)

To Serve :

Noodle cakes

Salad plate

Easy peanut sauce

Nuoc cham sauce

Slightly fatty pork, cut into 1 cm cubes

Garlic, crushed and chopped

Palm sugar



Chinese rice wine

Groundnut oil

Method :
  • Mix together the pork, garlic, sugar, salt, pepper, rice wine and groundnut oil in a bowl, cover and leave to marinate overnight.

  • Thread the pork cubes on to the pre-soaked bamboo skewers and cook under a preheated grill for about 10 minutes, turning frequently.

  • To eat the pork, wrap a piece in a noodle cake with some fresh herbs or a piece of lettuce.

  • Pull the pork from the skewer, and dip it into the peanut sauce of dipping sauce.
