Lotus Stem with Shrimps Salad Recipe

(Goi Ngo Sen)

Most Vietnamese salads like this one taste best if served immediately after it is prepared. Thus, try to prepare it just before serving.

Salad dressing

Mixed fish sauce

Shrimp crackers, deed fried

 

 

Pickled carrot

Lotus stem, washed and cut into 5 cm lengths

Shrimps, deveined, cooked and peeled

Lean pork, cooked and thinly sliced

Onion, peeled and thinly sliced

Polygonum leaves, finely chopped

 

 

Crushed peanuts (groundnuts)

Fried shallots

Method :
  • In a large bowl, combine all salad ingredients and mix well.

  • Add salad dressing and toss gently.

  • Arrange salad on a serving plate. Garnish with ground peanuts and fried shallots

  • Serve immediately with mixed fish sauce and shrimp crackers on the side.
