Sweet and Sour Peanut Sauce Recipe

Ingredients :

Groundnut (peanut) oil

Garlic, finely chopped

Red Thai chili, seeded and finely chopped

Roasted peanuts, finely chopped

Nuoc mam

Rice wine vinegar

Hoisin sauce

Coconut milk



Method :
  • Heat the oil in a small wok or heavy pan, and stir in the garlic and chili.

  • When they begin to color, add the peanuts.

  • Stir for a few minutes, or until the natural oil from the peanuts begins to weep.

  • Add the remaining ingredients, except the sugar, and boil the mixture for a minute.

  • Adjust the sweetness and seasoning to your taste by adding sugar and salt, and set aside.

  • Serve as a dipping sauce for pork or chicken dishes.
