Caramel Shrimps Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 4

1 1/2 tablespoons

8 cloves


500 g

1 teaspoon

1/2 teaspoon

1 tablespoon

4 bowls



3 tablespoons


Vegetable oil

Garlic, crushed and finely chopped

Small red chili, finely sliced

Raw shrimps, peeled and deveined



Caramel Syrup

Boiled rice, to serve



Chopped coriander leaves

Thinly sliced spring onions

Method :
  • Heat the oil in a wok, add the garlic and chili.

  • Stir fry for about 30 seconds.

  • Add the shrimps and pepper.

  • Cook for about 1 minute.

  • Add the salt and caramel syrup and cook for 1 further minute, stirring constantly.

  • To garnish, sprinkle with the coriander leaves and spring onions.

  • Serve with plain boiled rice.
