Shrimps and Pork Simmered in Coconut Juice Recipe

(Tep Rang Nuoc Dua)

Ingredients : Serves 4

200 g

1/4 teaspoon

1/4 teaspoon

1 tablespoon

2 cloves

1 tablespoon

300 g


Pork belly, thickly sliced

Ground white pepper


Cooking oil

Garlic, peeled and finely chopped



Young coconut, fresh coconut

Method :
  • Marinate pork with some pepper and salt.

  • Heat oil and stir fry garlic until fragrant.

  • Add sugar and cook until it caramelizes.

  • Add pork and stir fry until half cooked.

  • Add shrimps and stir fry until they turn red.

  • Season with more salt and pepper to taste.

  • Add coconut juice and bring to the boil then simmer until sauce is thick.

  • Serve with steamed rice.

If coconut juice is not available, use stock or water.
