Tofu Stuffed Tomatoes Recipe

Large tomatoes

Firm tofu, drained

Fresh mushrooms, chopped

Garlic, minced

Green onions (scallions) chopped

Nuoc cham sauce

Ground white pepper

Cornstarch

Egg, beaten

Vegetable oil

 

 

Coriander (cilantro) leaves, chopped

Method :
  • Cut tops from tomatoes, remove core and pulp and set aside.

  • Mash tofu and mix in a bowl with mushrooms, garlic, green onions (scallions) nuoc cham sauce, pepper, egg and cornstarch.

  • Fill tomatoes with the mixture.

  • In a large frying pan over high heat, pour in oil and carefully add tomatoes, stuffed side down.

  • Cook about 4 minutes, turn to low and cook for another 6 minutes.

  • Garnished with coriander (cilantro) leaves.

  • Serve sweet and sour sauce.
